Become a Volunteer. Help Students Imagine Their Future — and Act on It.
At the Harraseeket Foundation, we believe that every young person deserves the chance to explore what’s possible for their life after high school — to imagine their future, and to act on what they imagine. Our volunteers make that possible.
By volunteering with Imagining Your Future (IYF), you’ll work alongside dedicated educators and community partners to help high school students connect their passions with real-world experiences. Whether you have an hour a month or a few hours a week, there’s a meaningful role waiting for you.

Volunteer Roles
Be a guide
Guides are the heart of our program. As a guide, you’ll build ongoing relationships with a small group of students — attending workshops, checking in regularly, and helping them reflect on their goals. You don’t need to be an expert — just a good listener who’s passionate about helping students grow in confidence and direction.
Be a mentor
Mentors offer deeper, one-on-one support. You’ll help students explore specific career paths, share your own experiences, and connect them with professional networks or opportunities. Mentors help students take their first steps toward real-world goals — from refining college essays to preparing for internships.
““My mentor offered thoughtful career advice and a safe, supportive space to share what was on my mind. Nearly a year later, I’m still in touch — she continues to inspire me.”

Help a student learn about the workplace
Be a career panelist
Join a panel of professionals to share your career journey — the twists, turns, and lessons learned along the way. These honest, open conversations help students realize there’s no single path to success, and that their story is just beginning.
Host an internship, field trip or shadow day
Open your workplace to a student for a day or longer! Shadow Day, field trip and internship hosts provide an inside look at what different careers are really like — letting students see the tools, teamwork, and decision-making that make a job come alive. You’ll inspire curiosity and show them possibilities they might never have considered.
Be a workshop leader
Workshops are where the magic happens. If you have expertise — in anything from communication and goal-setting to entrepreneurship, public speaking, or design — we’d love for you to lead a hands-on workshop. Workshops give students practical tools and boost their confidence to act on their dreams.
““I talked with my Harraseeket mentor about my interest in the music business. Thanks to his connections, I landed an amazing summer internship at a music company. You never know where an introduction might lead!””
You don’t need special skills, experience or background to change a student’s life
Every volunteer brings a unique gift — time, experience, encouragement — and every student walks away with something invaluable: a clearer sense of who they are and where they’re headed.
Join Us!
You don’t need special training — just a willingness to show up, listen, and care.
We’ll prepare you with the tools, curriculum, and support you need to make a difference.
Together, we can help high school students imagine brighter futures — and take real steps toward them.
