We’re including a number of video links below so that you can supplement your reading by watching Bill and Dave talk about the book and its theory. Do note that they themselves have adapted design theory, as they explain in the videos, from other aspects of life at the D-School, so that their innovation is simply applying design theory not to some construction project but to what they call a “wicked problem,” namely, how one lives one’s life. If it would help, we encourage you to watch some of the videos, even though Dave Evans has to be the fastest talking person west of the Mississippi. But their videos are helpful to explain the five-step process of design theory, namely, as explained on page xxvi of the book: curiosity, bias to action, reframing, know it’s a process, and radical collaboration. So enjoy using the book and its theory, and do watch some of their introductory videos, and if their work excites you or attracts you, do check out their website as they have extensive resources available now on their DYL website.
