Module 11

11B.  Racism and anti-racism

There are so many resources, but based on two current bestselling books, you might consider watching or reading some of what’s listed below. This list is hardly complete; do draw down your own experiences and reading on this topic.

Ibram Kendi:

12 minute video of Kendi on Stephen Colbert: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCUOX3NMd4U

17 minute clip of Kendi on PBS: http://www.pbs.org/wnet/amanpour-and-company/video/bestselling-author-ibram-kendi-how-to-be-an-antiracist/

or a longer session, 51 minutes:

Kendi is “Mr. Anti-racism” so if this topic appeals to you, you might check him and his thinking out; he currently has not one but two books on the bestseller list.

And then there is Robin DiAngelo and her bestselling book White Fragility. An introductory video of five minutes is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvIO2GU8yTU

As with Kendi there are many other videos available, so you might check them out too. See: http://www.pbs.org/wnet/amanpour-and-company/video/white-fragility-extended-version/
